Our next Rasayana School of Yoga 200-hr Teacher Training in Kennewick & Leavenworth will be starting Fall 2017!
This is a joint venture between Joanna Dunn (Evolve::Local Yoga in Leavenworth) and Heather Anastos (Yoga Community in Kennewick). For full details, see our website at www.rasayana-yoga.com.
Rasayana School of Yoga focuses on balancing all eight limbs of the practice of yoga by starting with a mindful, alignment-based approach to asana that takes into account modifications for injury and illness. Meditation, pranayama, and the study of yoga philosophies are incorporated into a curriculum that will provide a well-rounded introduction to the art of teaching yoga. Advanced study course can be completed at a discounted rate for students who choose not to pursue teaching (must be designated at time of registration).
Advanced study will include:
- physical postures,
- restorative yoga,
- yoga philosophy,
- anatomy/subtle body anatomy,
- and Ayurveda.
Teaching curriculum will include:
- teaching techniques,
- verbal cues,
- teaching special populations,
- and business topics.
Specialty topics will be tailored to the group and may include: Teaching an Aging Population, Yoga for Scoliosis, Prenatal Yoga, Intermediate Inversions, Yoga for MS, or Special Topics in Vinyasa.
Course will be completed over 10 months in a weekend-based format (Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday) with one weekend of classes each month, including one long weekend retreat. The planned weekends** are: Sept. 23 – 25, Oct. 14-16, Nov. 3-6*, Dec. 9-11, Jan 20-22, Feb. 17-19, Mar 3-5, Apr 21-23, May 19-21, June 16-18. Classes will be held in Kennewick and in Leavenworth, some travel weekends required.***
*On-site Retreat Thursday afternoon to Sunday noon at Eastern/Central Washington location (housing included in registration).

This program took place over eight selected weekends in 2013 with Pacific Yoga instructors Theresa Elliott and Kathryn Payne teaching the same program they have lead in Seattle for 14 years, but now offered in eastern Washington!
